Hyrule Warriors: Guide to Hyrule

Weak String:

7 hits long. 6th hit can trap enemies well, and the 7th hit does nice damage. This is a decent option in 1v1.

Combo 1:

Volga will spin his spear in front of him then slam it into the ground. Enemies in front of Volga will be frozen while he is spinning the spear. When Volga smashes the spear into the ground, it will break the shield of any enemy in front of him. It also deals high damage. Use this attack often in 1v1, usually to finish a combo or just to get a quick hit in.

Combo 2:

Volga will swing his spear upward, launching any enemy hit by it. This attack doesn't deal much damage, but it breaks all Weak Point Gauges and can infinite. The timing is tricky to infinite with if you have Hasty Attacks, but it's still possible, just use Combo 2 over and over again.

Combo 3:

Volga will turn his hand into a claw, then throw out 3 slashes in front of him. Each individual slash goes quite far and is weak, but it can deal high amounts of damage when used right in front of an enemy so that they get hit by all 3 slashes. This attack is also one of the best moves against giant bosses (since they're so big, it's extremely easy to hit them with all 3 slashes). This attack can also be used to quickly clear out small crowds.

Combo 4:

Volga will breathe fire far in front of him and turn clockwise, covering a large area. This attack can cover an even wider area because you can turn while using it, so you can almost cover 360 degrees around Volga if you're fast enough. This is a nice attack to clear out medium crowds, but it is a bit slow and doesn't deal much damage. It could be used in 1v1 by spinning Volga conterclockwise (making him only affect 1 area), but it's tricky to do and the damage isn't enough to justify using it.

Combo 5:

Volga will turn into a dragon, fly up onto the air, then crash down, covering an extremely wide area. This attack deals high damage and is his best option for clearing keeps. He is also invincible the entire time he is a dragon, but it takes a bit before that happens, so use this move safely. This also means if you start the attack outside of a keep with a barrier, you can attack inside the keep without being damaged, but you shouldn't do this unless the keep boss is already out. You can also turn while crashing down. If you spin in circles quickly, you will land in almost the same spot you satrted the attack.

Special Attack:

Volga will stab in a straight line in front of him. This attack is nice for clearing out narrow hallways and for keeping enemies in the air during 1v1, but the damage is a bit low.
