Lana | Summoning Gate

Attacks:

Weak String:

5 hits long. First 4 hits do low damage, the 5th hit does a bit more. The 4th hit summons a sphere that freezes all enemies inside of it. Pretty slow and you shouldn't use it much. You can dodge cancel after the 4th hit to combo enemies frozen in the sphere, but you can't infinite with this.

Combo 1:

Lana will set the Gate on the ground, then it will blast out a beam of light. Afterwards, 1 of 4 bosses will randomly be summoned.

  • King Dodongo: Breathes fire a short distance in front of him. Enemies hit by the fire are trapped and easy to combo.

  • Manhandala: Spews poison around it. This slowly damages enemies and slows them down immensely while standing in the poison circle.

  • Ghoma: Shoots a laser in about a 45 degree angle in front of it. Doesn't do much damage and is probably the worse of the 4 summons.

  • Argorok: Breathes fire in a circle around it. Not much use.

You can infinite enemies with this attack if you dodge cancel right after the boss is summoned as long as you don't get Manhandala. If you use the combo that corresponds with the boss you summoned, the attack will be powered up.

Combo 2:

3 hits long. It starts with Lana dancing in a circle, trapping and repeatedly damaging enemies near Lana. The second hit makes Lana jump back and King Dodongo will come out of the Gate and slam down in front of him. The third hit will make King Dodongo roll forward. This attack breaks all Weak Point Gauges, but Hasty Attacks is required. This attack does nice damage and is decent at jugging single enemies. WHEN POWERED UP WITH C1: The first hit stays the same. The second hit will will start out the same, but a blue sphere will form around Lana, making her invincible to all attacks. She will also summon 2 other King Dodongos, 1 on each side of her. The third hit will make both Dodongos shoot a fireball. Since they are slightly rotated toward each other, the fireballs will cross each other in an X pattern. This attack does a bit more damage than the normal version and is safer since you have invincibility on the last 2 hits, but it doesn't change how you will use the attack, it's just a nice bonus.

Combo 3:

3 hits long. The first hit will make Lana summon one of Manhandala's heads. This attack does no damage. The second hit will make Lana dance, and the Manhandala head will spin around 4 times. The third hit will make the Manhandala head shoot out 4 Deku Seeds 4 times. The third hit does very nice damage, but you are exposed from behind, so make sure you're safe. WHEN POWERED UP WITH C1: The first 2 hits are the same. The third hit will create the blue sphere around Lana to make her invincible while she summons 2 more Manhandala heads on the left and right of her. She will slowly walk forward, and the Manhandala heads will spin around, similar to the second hit. The attack ends with both Manhandala heads shooting a flurry of Deku Seeds out in front of them. The final hit of this attack deals a large amount of damage and will do a lot of damage to any Weak Point Gauge exposed. This attack is helpful for clearing out narrow hallways, but not much else.

Combo 4:

2 hits long. Lana will quickly spin around then jump backwards, summoning a Ghoma that jumps on anyone below him. The second hit will make Ghoma jump forward before disappearing. This attack does okay damage but it doesn't have many uses with it's somewhat short range. WHEN POWERED UP WITH C1: The first hit stays the same. The second hit will summon Lana's blue sphere of invincibility and 2 Ghomas will appear on either side of Lana. They will both shoot a laser at a 45 degree angle. The attack will finish off with both Ghomas shooting off a small ball of light that will explode after a set distance. This attack is great at clearing keeps, but any enemies directly in front of you will not be hit by the attack. This isn't much of a problem since you are invincible, but make sure to space correctly.

Combo 5:

2 hits long. The first hit will make Argorok pop out of the Gate and go straight into the air. The second hit sends Argorok forward, breathing fire and damaging any enemies in his path. This attack is great for taking keeps and better at attacking down narrow corridors than powered-up C3 since it is always available. The damage is good too. WHEN POWERED UP WITH C1: Lana will waver her arms to summon Argorok and her blue sphere of invincibility. She will then jump on top of Argorok and ride him as he continuously breathes out fire. If you press the Strong Attack button again before the attack ends, Argorok will shoot a huge fireball that explodes when it hits the ground. This is without a doubt the Summoning Gate's best move. damage is high, you are completely mobile (and invincible) while the attack is happening, and the finisher does a large amount of damage as well. It also breaks Weak Point Gauges very quickly. Since you are invincible while riding Argorok, you can go into a barrier keep and take it if you're fast enough without needing the fairy.

Special Attack:

In a small circular area in front of her, Lana will summon a giant Cucoo. It will jump straight upwards, then run forward for a bit before disappearing. The damage is low and the range isn't very wide, but it is helpful for getting officers away from you.

General Rule when battling with this weapon:

Since most attacks with this weapon cover a wide range in front of you but barely behind you, it's best to attack with your back to a wall or corner. This will make attacking much safer, and it will help you to maximize the range on your attacks.

Giant bosses:

If you're familiar with the max rupee glitch, then you should know the process for this.

While the boss is falling, prepare a Combo 3. When the third hit starts (when it shoots out the Deku Seeds), dodge cancel out and use a Combo 1. The Manhandala head should continue attacking. Now that you've summoned another boss, you can finish off with a few weak attacks alongside the Manhandala head and whatever boss you summoned. This works on all Giant bosses except for The Imprisoned and Ganon.
